This page is about skateboarding, one of my favourite hobbies! I am not so good in skateboarding but I am trying my best to get better. Some of the tricks that I can do  include:Ollie, nose stall, Kickflip, switch, nose manual and manual.

My Favourite Pro's

One of my favourite pro skaters is Rodney Mullen. He is described as the godfather of  street skating. In the past few years he has invented a number of tricks such as:kickflip, heelflip, casper, impossible and hard flip.

Another one of my favourite pros, is Tony Hawk one of the most well known skateboarder of all time. He was the only skateboarder ever to do a 900 degree spin. At the age of 31 he retired from skateboarding but he still skates for fun. To find out more about him click here.

Trick Tips

If you are just starting to skateboard and don't know any tricks than I will teach you some:

The Ollie

You can start to do this trick while standing but if you want to try it while moving than do so. First push the tail of your skateboard down and that will make you go in the air. When you are in the air slide your front foot up to the tail of the board to straighten the board out. Then just wait until you get back to the ground and voila, you can Ollie! The Ollie is a  very useful trick to use for jumping over things and it is one of the main tricks in skateboarding. You have to be able to Ollie to do any type of flip or grind. Here is a photo of me doing an Ollie:

The Kick flip

To do a kickflip you have to be able to do a ollie. So don't bother reading this if you haven't mastered the ollie yet. But if you have than read: First start in ollie position. Then do an ollie and while you are in the air slide your front foot up the nose of your board and then bring your foot down so that you will create the board to spin. Wait for the board to come around and land on it. If you are only landing the kickflip with one foot, then when you are in the air, turn your body so that both of your feet will be above the board and you will land on it.
